Supermarine Spitfire F.Mk 22
The Supermarine Spitfire F.Mk 22 was identical to the Supermarine Spitfire F.Mk 21 except for a cut down rear fuselage with a bubble canopy and the use of 24V eclectics. A total of 287 were used post-war by the RAF in one regular (73 Sqn) squadron and 12 Auxiliary Air Force Units. Declared obsolete in 1955 by the RAF, some were refurbished by Vickers and sold to Egypt, Syria and Southern Rhodesia.
