Launched on 27 June 1945, USS Mindoro was a Commencement Bay-class escort carrier of the US Navy. Commissioned on 4 December 1945, she was too late to see service in World War Two, but was employed post-war in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
Her duties generally consisted of training cruises and anti-submarine Hunter killer exercises. On 4 August 1955 she was decommissioned and joined the Atlantic Reserve Fleet at Boston. While berthed at Boston, she was reclassified as AKV‑20 on 7 May 1959. USS Mindoro CVE-120 was struck from the Navy List on 1 December 1959 and sold for scrap the next year.
