CAC Boomerang
The CAC Boomerang was a single engined single seat fighter operated by the Royal Australian Air Force during World War Two. It was designed to meet an urgent need for fighters following Japan’s entry into World War Two. Although slower than contemporary fighters, the Boomerang was successful in the army cooperation and target marking role.
It was manufactured by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation from 1942 to 1945, with a total of 250 aircraft being completed.
