Arsenal VG-90 French Fighter

The Arsenal VG-90 was a French carrier based jet engined interceptor intended for the Aéronavale. First flying in 1949, it set a French air speed record. Unfortunately the first two prototypes were involved in fatal crashes and the program was cancelled, with the third incomplete airframe scrapped. The  Aéronavale chose to license built the de Havilland Sea Venom instead.
