Bristol Blenheim in Greek Service
In late 1939, Britain supplied Greece with twelve Bristol Blenheim Mk.IV bombers. These were used against the invading Italians from November 1940. Due to intense use and enemy action, their number was reduced to four aircraft by January 1941. An additional six Belenheims were delivered in February, but the German invasion resulted in the loss of all remaining aircraft, mostly from enemy strafing attacks on their airfields.
In Egypt, the reconstituted No. 13 Squadron operated within the RAF an was originally equipped with Avro Ansons. These were replaced by Bristol Blenheim Mk.IVs and later Mk.Vs, which were used on anti-submarine patrols. Blenheims were operated from January 1942 until October 1943 when they were replaced by Martin Baltimores.
