Originally conceived as an unarmed bomber, the de Havilland Mosquito was developed into a multi-role aircraft, operating as a fighter, nigh-fighter, bomber, photo reconnaissance aircraft and strike aircraft.

The Sea Mosquito was developed for the Royal Navy for carrier operations, but was only produced in small numbers.
