Dornier Do 17 in Spanish Service

A total of 27 Dornier Do 17E, F and P variants were operated by the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War. Initially the Do 17s performed well, outpacing Republican fighters. However when the Soviet Union supplied more modern fighters they proved vulnerable to interception, prompting an increase in defensive armament.

At the end of the conflict, the remaining 13 aircraft were passed on to the Spanish Air Force.
