Farman F.222
The Farman F.222 was the definitive production version of the F.220 series of four engined bombers for the Armee de l’Air. Developed from the F.221, it featured retractable undercarriage, gun turrets and more powerful engines.
The Farman F.222.01 prototype was converted from the F.221.01 (itself being the prototype of the F.221). The initial eleven built were designated F.222.1 and were followed by 24 F.222.2 bombers with a redesigned nose and upgraded engines.
A single Farman F.2220 airliner, Ville de Dakar was built for Air France.
