Kawasaki Ki-78 High Speed Research Aircraft
The Kawasaki Ki-78 was a high-speed research aircraft developed to investigate laminar profile wings with high wing loadings. Powered by a Daimler-Benz DB 601A it reached a speed of 430 mph during trials. A study into improving performance showed that a complete redesign of the aircraft was required. As a result the program was terminated.
