Latécoère 298
The Latécoère 298 was a French seaplane designed as a torpedo bomber. During the German invasion of France in 1940 it also served as a dive bomber against ground targets, harassing military columns.
After the French armistice it continued to be operated by the Vichy French forces, while captured aircraft were operated by the Luftwaffe. Following Operation Torch in North Africa, French aircraft again sided with the Allies and took part in coastal patrols, later attacking German positions in France.
