Lockheed XF-90 Fighter Prototype
The Lockheed XF-90 was designed in response for a US Air Force requirement for a long-range penetration fighter and bomber escort. Two prototypes were built. The design proved to be underpowered and no production order was received. Both prototypes were then used for tests.
46-0687 was tested to destruction at NACA lab in Cleveland, Ohio, while 46-0688 survived three atomic bomb tests and is now awaiting restoration.
