Mitsubishi Ki-30 Ann Light Bomber
The Mitsubishi Ki-30 was a light bomber operated by the Japanese Imperial Army Air Force during the Second World War. First flying on 28 February 1937, it entered service in January 1938. A total of 704 were built. The Allies used the reporting name Ann for the Ki-30.
First seeing combat during the Second Sino-Japanese War, it also participated in the early campaigns in the Pacific, notably in the Philippines. However, when modern Allied fighters were encountered losses mounted and they were withdrawn to second-line duties. Many were later expended in Kamikaze attacks at the end of the war.
In 1940, 25 were transferred to Thailand where they saw combat during the French-Thai war in 1941.
