Nakajima Ki-43 in French Service

French forces used 13 Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa fighters abandoned by the Japanese Army at the end of the Second World War. Most were collected and assembled by RAF personnel before the arrival of French forces in Indochina. Ki-43s were sourced from Burma and Singapore as well as the old French colony. The last Ki-43 flew on 7 February 1946, when they were all scrapped and replaced by Spitfires.
