Supermarine Spitfire in Egyptian Service

From 1943 to 1949, Egypt operated 26 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V fighters. From 1946, the Royal Egyptian Air Force aquired 38 Spitfire Mk.IX, which it operated until 1955. The Mk.Ixs were used in the 1948 war and clashed with Israeli fighters.

Egypt operated Supermarine Spitfire Mk. 22 fighters from 1947 until 1956.
