Hawker Hurricane Scale Models
Designed by Sir Sydney Camm, as a monoplane successor to the Hawker Fury, the Hurricane first flew in 1935. Production commenced in 1936, so that by the start of World War Two, 18 squadrons were equiped with the Hawker Hurricane.
During the Battle of Britain, the Hurricane was responsible for shooting down more Luftwaffe aircraft that any other fighter, including the more famous Supermarine Spitfire.
When production ceased in July 1944, a total of 14,487 had been produced in the UK and Canada.
