Vought XF5U-1 Flying Flapjack Scale Models
The Vought XF5U-1 Flying Flapjack was an experimental aircraft built for the US Navy towards the end of World War Two. The unique design offered high speed and maneuverability, however vibration problems delayed flight teste. At this time, the navy was developing jet aircraft, so the XF5U was cancelled, with only one prototype completed, that never flew beyond small hops.
